
Sibiel is a beautiful village situated at about 10 km from Sibiu ( 280 km from Bucharest).
The peaceful atmosphere of the village, its houses and people will, for sure, conquer you for the first glimpse. You will
find your guest friendly and eager to make you have an excellent time. The traditional cuisine will be a strong point of your
stay - the food is generally from organically grown products and the wine and "Tuica" (the Romanian plum brandy) are from
your gust's own cellar. The natural environment is simply beautiful. You have to see it!

Painting on glass is a tradition for 200 years
in these villages and the Museum of Painted Glass in Sibiel is the largest in Europe.

Created in 1969 from public donations, the Painted Icons on the Glass Museum contains valuable collection of icons painted on glass, collected
from almost all the people who paint on glass around the country. Beside these icons, the museum contains also icons on woods,
folk pottery, innards of furniture, homemade blouses and other traditional costumes as well as a series of old Romanian books.
